September Rock 50 Episode Canceled

Hey Everyone,
Our September 9/11 show will not be aired this month. My apologies, especially to our regular listeners for any disappointment or inconvenience. At this time, Rock 50 wishes to send its condolences to the families and friends of all those who perished on 9/11/01. We send our ongoing respect to New York’s Finest as they continue to be the best emergency services in the world, and in loving memory, we bow our heads to those who courageously fell doing their duty. Never to be forgotten, and always in our hearts.

Hi Everybody.
It’s Bill here. First off, I want to thank you all for the support you’ve given me throughout the years. I love to play– whether it’s playing drums in Black Sabbath, making music with my own band or working with other musicians, period. Being able to do what I love for my whole life, pretty much, has been an honour and privilege.
When I started playing in Sabbath, there was an energy of truth about us. We believed in what we were saying, the music we were making and the lives we were living. As time has moved on, I’ve nurtured and tried to save a lot of what I learnt playing in Sabbath. During the more recent years at the Ozzfest concerts, I’ve found myself immersed in the musical rewards of playing in such a unique and devastatingly, powerfully effective Metal band. Sabbath have been, and are, my greatest teachers, and I am forever grateful for the musical journey so far.
Today, I love what’s happening in music. I’ve been given the rare opportunity to play bands I like – Classic and newer Metal – on our Rock 50 radio show. These bands energize me.
I am humbled to know many of you. Music lives and brings and maintains life. Music has always brought me through.

Bill,
The first album I ever purchased was Paranoid. When I got it home for the first play of many thousands of plays, what got my attention and drew me in immediately was the powerful drums. Being a young teenager just coming into my own musically I did not realize the massive effect that drums could have on a band. In most music I had listened to up till that glorious day, drums were used for keeping a beat and not being a major part of the song. Now thousands of albums later, and yes I still have the original Paranoid in its well worn and tattered cover, I still can go back and spin that disc and be transformed to a time when music was innovative and real.
Thank you for all your contributions but most of all, thanks for the music.
