New Stuff

With a new website comes new stuff, right? While Bill is still not ready to present any new music, we had a quick look around into the archives and found a couple of small nuggets we wanted to throw out there. First is a picture (shown here) of Bill from 2005. This was taken inside his trailer while on Ozzfest 2005. He’s also wearing a T-Shirt from one of his favorite bands, “In Flames“.
The second is an mp3 of an interview Bill did several years ago with Craig Nunenmacher of Black Label Society. This was going to be the launching point of a series of interviews that never got off the ground, but we thought now was a good time to get the interview out there. If you listen to it, the interview refers to itself as “Part 1”, and said there was going to be a “Part 2”. Part 2 never happened. 🙂

Hi Everybody.
It’s Bill here. First off, I want to thank you all for the support you’ve given me throughout the years. I love to play– whether it’s playing drums in Black Sabbath, making music with my own band or working with other musicians, period. Being able to do what I love for my whole life, pretty much, has been an honour and privilege.
When I started playing in Sabbath, there was an energy of truth about us. We believed in what we were saying, the music we were making and the lives we were living. As time has moved on, I’ve nurtured and tried to save a lot of what I learnt playing in Sabbath. During the more recent years at the Ozzfest concerts, I’ve found myself immersed in the musical rewards of playing in such a unique and devastatingly, powerfully effective Metal band. Sabbath have been, and are, my greatest teachers, and I am forever grateful for the musical journey so far.
Today, I love what’s happening in music. I’ve been given the rare opportunity to play bands I like – Classic and newer Metal – on our Rock 50 radio show. These bands energize me.
I am humbled to know many of you. Music lives and brings and maintains life. Music has always brought me through.

Hi,Bill Ward is more than just a legend,his honesty as a person is the mark of his greatness.I have listened to his music for 35 years.I saw him twice at ozzfest ,also on the Never Say Die tour.There is no greater drummer in history or the present of heavy metal(hard rock). Bill,looking solid in his older years. I,myself,have been playing drums for 30 years because of Bill’s performance of War pigs at Cal Jam. Rock on Mr.Ward

Hi Bill!!
I as a danish viking still remember your heavy & powerfull drumming at The Roskilde show back in 2005. For me you was the master of that concert. And back in 2001 beating up my all time fave tack “Under The Sun”.
As a Sabbath fan sice 1970 (!!) I look forward to hear your “Beyond Aston” album!!!
